Sendwave began as a start-up in 2014 and is now used by over 400k people. It is closely linked to Wave which is a digital banking app expanding on Sendwave’s money transfer service. Both Wave and Sendwave are designed to reduce the costs of remittances, money transfers and banking within Africa and make it more accessible.
Money can currently be sent from North America and Europe to Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Uganda.
To begin sending money with Sendwave, customers will need to download the app, link their debit card and then verify their identity. Post completing the process customers will be ready to transfer money.
