Barclays offer services to the consumers and small businesses through their retail banking services, and larger businesses and institutions through their corporate and investment banking services.
Customers can send money to over 200 countries worldwide, in over 50 currencies. Also, they can make payments through online banking as well as through bank branches to the majority of these countries, which span America, Central and South America, Africa, Asia and Australasia. However, there are a few countries where customers can only send money by visiting a bank branch, which are Algeria, Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Falkland Islands, Georgia, Nepal and Uruguay.
In order to use the remittance service, customer needs to hold an account with the Barclays Bank. Also, the customer does not need to provide any ID proof for making a remittance as the ID proof verification is done by Barclays Bank at the time of opening the account.
